Good morning! I have a fun recap post today – I was lucky enough to escape to sunny St. Augustine with my brother, uncle, dad, and grandmother for a few days this past weekend. There’s nothing like sunshine and the sound of the ocean to de-stress! Oh, and PLENTY of amazing food – which I’ll share tomorrow for “What I Ate Wednesday”.
Settled in Thursday night with a glass of white wine and this view:
The house my uncle rented was amazing – the first morning I woke up to this beautiful sunrise:
Showered in the biggest bathroom with the best view I’ve ever seen:
Walked through the oldest city in America. enjoying lunch at a Mayan restaurant we discovered two years ago on our first trip there:
Friday’s fitness was a 3 mile walk along the beach:
Saturday I tried my first ever Bikram yoga class and surprisingly enjoyed it – I’m so used to a power flow vinyasa style of hot yoga, but I would definitely do Bikram more often if there was a studio closer to home.
Sunday morning my brother and I ran 5 miles over the beautiful causeway and back to the house – my longest and strongest run in a long time!
Followed by some stretching and yoga on the deck. Pretty much the perfect workout.
Followed by lunch on the beach before we had to head to the airport. Trips like this make me wonder why I live in Pittsburgh – I love it here, but I thrive at the beach!
When was the last time you took a short vacation – or stay-cation?
