Happy Monday, all! I wasn’t going to post today since I’ve been fighting a stomach bug and not doing a whole lot of eating, but I have a few things to share.
I wasn’t feeling quite right Saturday morning, but went to a hot yoga class anyway - and felt like I would pass out. I had to drop down in to child’s pose 3 or 4 times during the 75 minute class, which almost never happens to me. I was worried I was dehydrating so I stopped at Walgreens on the way home and grabbed a coconut water – I was hoping the electrolytes would help. I can’t decide if I liked the taste or not, but decided it was hydrating enough to get me through a few hours at the wavepool.

100 degrees + a good book – the best $5 I’ve spent this week.
PS, the book is A Thousand Days in Tuscany, the sequel to A Thousand Days in Venice where the main character falls in love with a Venetian and picks up and moves there to marry him. She’s a chef and describes, in detail, these amazing breads and baked goods and even meat dishes that make my mouth water. If you’ve ever been to Italy or want to go, this writer paints a beautiful picture of the country and makes me want to go back tomorrow – no, yesterday.

So after all of this romantic Italian reading, I wanted PASTA. We went back to The Italian Oven, thanks to its close location and air conditioning.

We split the bruschetta and I got a veggie pasta dish that’s usually topped with chicken, but they substituted shrimp for me instead. I’ll get 2 or 3 more meals from this – leftover heaven!

I can’t believe I haven’t made banana softserve in the food processor before – it gets way creamier than in the Magic Bullet! I added half a scoop of vanilla whey protein & sprinkles for a guilt-free fro-yo like treat.
Since everything I ate Saturday and Sunday morning made me feel awful, I decided to eat something that would at least TASTE good before it made me feel miserable.

Donut Sundays should be a tradition, right?! My husband even let me have the one with the sprinkles.
I’ve been feeling a bit better today, living on Chobani and Love Grown for now. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Looks like an amazing weekend, I have never tried the banana soft serve.

Sorry you weren’t feeling well. I have had yoga classes where I need to rest like that. Sometimes the heat just makes you sick.
I really want to read that book!! Sounds right up my alley.
Feel better soon!
ahh, poor thing! i hope you’re feeling better today!
ps – the only coconut water i like is straight out of young coconuts. that junk in the packages tastes NOTHING like the fresh stuff! that being said, it’s a huge painintheass to get those suckers cracked open!
